Japingka Gallery is a specialist in Australian Aboriginal Art. The art gallery was formed in 1995 to promote the art and culture of Indigenous Australia. It grew from the work of Desert Designs which began marketing contemporary Aboriginal painting, art and design in 1984. Japingka Art Gallery is based in an historic two story building in the heart of Fremantle, Western Australia. Japingka Gallery sources the best Indigenous Fine Art using its vast experience and extensive industry-wide contacts from Aboriginal artists and Aboriginal communities of remote Australia, including from the Central Desert, Western Desert, The Kimberley and Arnhem Land regions. Japingka Gallery's exhibition program showcases established and highly recognised Indigenous Artists, as well as new and emerging artists. This extensive program is conducted fully within the framework of the ART.TRADE Code of Ethics. All artworks are fully documented and guaranteed. The story associated with the painting, often based on traditional Aboriginal knowledge from Dreamtime lore or Jukurrpa, is provided where possible, along with the artist's biography and a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
